12/1 ＊ Birds flying south.🐦

In the morning on Dec 1st, I run into a lot of birds flying south on the way to my English class.

月日はあっという間に流れ、いつの間にやら師走。
この日はEASLの学校に行く途中、
たくさんの鳥たちが南に向かって飛んでいく様子を目撃しました。

They were flying in a formation and sometimes changed it. I don’t know the rule about how birds fly in formation, but watching them was so interesting to me. I got off my bike for a little while and took photos quickly so as not to miss them.

鳥たちは隊列を成して飛んでいて、時々その形を変えているよう。
どんなルールがあるのか分からないけれど、
その様子はただ見ているだけでもなんだか興味深くて。
私はちょっとばかり自転車から降り、
見失わないようすばやく写真を撮ったのでした。

I had probably never seen such birds flying before. It reminded me that my English teacher had just taught me a couple of days before that birds flying south is associated with fall.

鳥がこんな感じで飛ぶ様子を見たのは、たぶん初めて。
しかもちょうど数日前、英語の先生から
鳥たちが南に向かって飛ぶのは
秋に関連した出来事だと聞いていたところだったのでした。

Even though the day when I saw the birds was maybe the beginning of midwinter, I realized those birds were exactly what my teacher had described! I looked at the fascinating fall view for just a second, and then, went off to school.

私がこの鳥たちを見たのって、
そろそろ真冬に突入かな？という時期。だって師走だもんねぇ
でも「これが先生の言ってた鳥さんたちか！」と私は妙に興奮。
今の季節だけ見られる特別な風景をしばし眺めて楽しみ、
いつもの学校へと向かったのでした。
